San Diego Comic Con was cancelled this year due to obvious reasons we all know about, so it went online but I didn’t feel there was enough there to excite me.

A divisive one – by the time Justice League hit theaters in 2017 Joss Whedon had taken over as director and had reshot a tonne of stuff leaving most of Snyder’s vision on the cutting room flor. This led to a movement campaigning to release Snyder’s 4hr cut, something that was eventually announced for HBO Max a few months ago.
I actually found this movement somewhat aggressive but now the film will be released in 4 `1 hour segments, I am interested to see what it will be and compare it to the theatrical cut..
3 – Matt Reeves Confirms “Year One” Setting For HBO Max Series
Matt Reeves is going all-in with what’s been confirmed as a new universe, with a new Gotham City. While The Batman (more on that in a min) is stated to be ‘Year Two’, this will be an HBOMax series set during ‘Year One’

While I was never the biggest ‘Batfleck’ stan my initial reacton to a new Batman reboot (remember merely a decade ago Christian Bale still held the role) was, ‘what ANOTHER one’?! However, the casting for this movie has been immense and it looks f*ing beautiful. It’s completely won me over!
1 – THE FLASH Concept Art Reveals The Scarlet Speedster’s New Suit And A Team-Up With Michael Keaton’s Batman
Where do I start? I always wanted to revisit the Batman 89 universe, but if it were to happen I’d have expected it to be in a comic book or, if we were lucky, an animated movie (ala Adam West’s Batman 66). Vanity Fair confirmed weeks of rumours that Keaton will be reprising his Bruce/Batman from Batman 1989 and Batman Returns almost 30 YEARS LATER! in a significant role alongside Ezra Miller and Ben Affleck, who will also return.
Nostalgia is huge in Hollywood and overtaking the trend of prequels and reboots – Bill and Ted are back for a threequel as is The Matrix; Star Wars brought back many of the original cast for the sequel trilogy and an Obi-Wan Kenobi mini-series is in the works at Disney+; Harrison Ford has made a second Blade Runner and a fifth Indiana Jones is in the works; and in TV Jean-Luc Picard’s life has been expanded beyond the events of Star Trek: Nemesis.
Just before The Flash panel, DC execs from the film and TV department confirmed that, following The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Multiverse would be a thing they will be exploring over the next few years, with the Flash at the centre of it given his abilities. Could that mean more crossover and returns? Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman for example? THAT rumoured Brandon Routh Superman mini-series on HBO Max? A zany Riddler spin-off starring Jim Car-OK I’ll stop.

Following Kevin Conroy’s appearance in COIE the other animation-to-live action corssover I’d love to see is Mark Hamill as the Joker – though his Trickster in the Flash, particularly the Arrowverse version, is pretty darn close!
